Welcome to Park Academy West London’s Sixth Form
At Park Academy West London we are committed to delivering education that is of the highest quality, engaging and transformational to ensure our students leave the Academy ready to play an active and successful role in today’s highly competitive and fast-changing world.
As an Academy we aim to make learning inspiring, challenging and enjoyable enabling students to achieve high levels of academic success and be on their way to achieving their aspirations. The curriculum structure of our Sixth Form means students can select from a broad range of courses and gain nationally recognised qualifications at the end of Year 13. The robust assessment process allows staff and students to identify gaps and misconceptions early to ensure excellent progress is made.
At Park Academy, we provide students with numerous opportunities to develop their professionalism and independence in an organised structure of a school day. Within this structure each student has timetabled, independent study periods where they are provided with an opportunity to take ownership of their learning.
All year 12 students will complete the Aspirations Employability Diploma (AED), which is unique to the Aspirations Academies Trust. The AED enables students’ continuous reflection with regard to career planning. It sets a framework formed around a series of driving research questions, and provides students the opportunity to work alongside professionals from active companies and industries operating in our world today. Projects are completed in groups or individually and are focused around the fields of Health and Medicine, Engineering and Education. The projects are designed to allow students to develop a wide range of transferable skills to maximise their learning potential.
Our enrichment programme offers students the chance to develop their wider skills. The programme enables students to become involved in a variety of activities such as enterprise, recreational sports and physical activities, student leadership and student voice and work with younger students across the school. The aim of the programme is to allow students to build a repertoire of experiences that will give them the confidence to lead others in their future life.
Park Academy Sixth Form prepares students as they move onto university, college or the career of their choice. Students will be supported by a team of expert teachers and their Academic Mentor who will make sure that students have all the information and experience needed to be successful in their next steps. Students will participate in a programme of university visits, interview practice and work experience to support them in making decisions about their future.
